Steps to Enter the Fair

At the Brussels Fall Fair, there are exhibits for all ages, allowing anyone to enter the fair and engage in a friendly competition. There are a number of steps involved to enter the fair!

Step 1. Select your Activities

From the 2025 Fall Fair Book, select one or more activities to complete before the Fall Fair.

Step 2. Complete your Activities

Complete the activities in accordance with their "specifications" listed in the Fair Book, adhering to the "Rules and Regulations" for entering the fair.

Step 3. Register your Entries

Register your entry into AssistExpo, our Fall Fair Entry Management System.

AssistExpo is a management system that allows the Brussels Agricultural Society to easily compile fair results and produce various reports on the activities of the fair. The reports generated from this program help guide future programming at the Brussels Fall Fair.

Step 4. Complete your Entry Tag

In accordance with the fair's "Rules and Regulations", all articles entered into the fair must be accompanied by a completed entry tag. Entry tags can be picked up at Craft Days or during Registration Periods leading up to the fair.

On both Craft Days and during Registration Periods leading up to the fair, Brussels Agricultural Society members can assist you in completing your Entry Tags.

Each Entry Tag requires an exhibitor number, which is generated by the Brussels Agricultural Society the first time you enter the fairThe exhibitor number generated for you will stay with you for life.

If you don't know your exhibitor number, you can contact the Brussels Agricultural Society Secretary who can look up and provide you with your exhibitor number.

Step 5. Bring your Entries to the Fair

The last step is to bring your entries to the Fall Fair during one of the Registration Periods in the days leading up to the fair.

Rules and Regulations

In order to ensure that the Fall Fair competitions provide fair opportunity and are equal for all, there are a number of "Rules and Regulations" that exhibitors must adhere to.

Right of Ownership
1. All exhibited articles must be the bonafide property of the exhibitor.
2. All partnership entries must be genuine.
3. All natural entries, including but not limited to, crops, roots and vegetables, and plants, must be the growth of the current year.

Membership
1. All exhibitors, at or over the age of 18, must be a member of the Brussels Agricultural Society. The annual membership fee is $5. This fee must be paid before you are allowed to exhibit.
2. Junior and Intermediate exhibitors (i.e. those under the age of 18) are exempt from this requirement.

Registration Period

Indoor Entries
1. All articles shown indoors may be brought to the Brussels, Morris & Grey Community Centre between 7 PM to 9 PM Monday evening or 9 AM to 12 PM (NOON) Tuesday.
2. No entries will be accepted after 12 PM (NOON) Tuesday.
3. No indoor entries may be removed before 3:30 PM Wednesday.
4. Any exhibitor removing exhibits before 3:30 PM Wednesday will forfeit all prizes.
5. All exhibits must be accompanied by a completed entry tag. 
6. A Brussels Agricultural Society member will be at the Main Entrance to accept entry tags and membership fees Monday evening and Tuesday morning.


Outdoor Entries
1. All articles shown outdoors must be on the Fair Grounds by 11 AM Wednesday.


Judging
1. Exhibitors will not be allowed to interfere with or dictate to the judges or directors while in discharge of their duties.
2. Prizes may not be awarded in a class if the judge(s) feel that the entries are not worthy of placing
3. Exhibitors give up the right to any prizes if they interfere with the judge(s) or they show the same article twice in the same class (*except for special entries)
4. Animals and articles taking prizes will be distinguished by the judge(s) attaching tags showing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
5. Prize money awarded from exhibits will be paid after October 1st.

Protests
1. Any exhibitor lodging a protest must do so in writing and present it to the Fair Secretary before 6:00 PM Wednesday following the fair.

Brussels Agricultural Society Liability
1. While directors will take every possible precaution under the circumstances to safeguard articles entered into the fair, the exhibitors own the risk associated with exhibiting. Should any article be damaged, lost, or stolen, the Brussels Agricultural Society will assist in its recovery to the best of its ability, but are not liable nor required provide compensation of any kind.
2. The Brussels Agricultural Society reserves the right do deduct from each prize a proportionate amount to cover administration costs
3. The Brussels Agricultural Society will not hold itself liable for any accident happening at the fair, or any costs arising therein.
